Nature Based Therapy Recognised as a Very Neighbourly Organisation

Nature Based Therapy | January 8, 2026

At the heart of Nature Based Therapy is the belief that wellbeing is nurtured through connection — to self, to others, and to the communities we belong to.

We’re honoured to share that Nature Based Therapy has been recognised as a Very Neighbourly Organisation (VNO) through Relationships Australia, as part of their national Neighbours Every Day campaign.

What is a Very Neighbourly Organisation?

A Very Neighbourly Organisation is recognised for actively supporting connection, belonging, and respectful relationships within community. This recognition reflects organisations that take practical, inclusive action to strengthen social connection and contribute to more resilient, connected communities — in ways that are voluntary, values-aligned, and community-led.

The Neighbours Every Day campaign is a year-round national initiative that responds to one of the most pressing challenges of our time: social isolation and loneliness. With one in four Australians reporting loneliness, and strong links between social connection, mental health, and overall wellbeing, the campaign highlights the power of everyday actions in helping people feel they belong.

Our Alignment

This recognition reflects the way Nature Based Therapy has always approached wellbeing — not as something that happens in isolation, but through relationship, shared spaces, and connection to place. Our work is grounded in the understanding that community connection is a protective factor for mental health, and that healing is strengthened when people feel seen, included, and supported.

We’re grateful to be walking alongside Relationships Australia and the Neighbours Every Day initiative as part of a national network of organisations committed to fostering inclusion, connection, and belonging. This recognition marks a meaningful milestone in our ongoing commitment to community-centred, relational wellbeing.
